Where to stay
- Hurghada — the largest resort town, with the widest range of price points and easy access from Cairo
- Sharm El Sheikh — more established resort infrastructure, strong diving and snorkeling access, particularly Ras Mohammed National Park
- El Gouna — a planned resort town known for a more upscale, curated feel and a lagoon-town layout
- Marsa Alam — further south, quieter, and known for exceptional reef access with fewer crowds
What to expect
All-inclusive is the dominant board type along the Red Sea — most resorts are designed around it. Diving and snorkeling packages, often bundled with PADI certification courses, are widely available directly through hotels or nearby dive centers.
